Congratulations to those involved in introducing our future teachers still in university to this new exciting program involving parents and their children. By expanding the new teachers vision of education initiatives while still in school their potential future roles are made more interesting and fulfilling.

Congratulations to all the Parent Teaching Coaches on receiving their certificates of dedication. Their individual testamonials are sincere and from the heart. The challenge next year is to continue to build the program and expand it to include more parents and students.
Congratulations once again and enjoy the benefits of watching your children/grandchildren interact with each other with increased confidence.

The Parent Reading Coach program as been a great experience for me. I have had the privilege to learn from a wonderful teacher, Tiffany Bastin. In fact, I desire to learn more to give more. Learning about the reading strategies has given me the gift to share the knowledge with other parents, but more importantly to be a part of the literacy growth of the students. Their growth is my own success. This program has provided me with the confidence, insight, and means to be an educator in the real world, even if it is only on a small scale.

I am a Maliseet Language and Culture teacher and one of the Parent Reading Coaches at Hubbard School. Since this program has been introduced, there has been a significant difference in reading levels from our students. They use the strategies they have learned from us (which are the same as what their teacher is using) and are more confident in themselves. I have a granddaughter in Grade Three and have noticed a big difference in how she reads. As an avid reader myself, I only wish this program had been introduced years ago because my three older grandchildren in the school system struggle with reading and because of this, show no interest in reading other than what they do in school.I thank Tiffany Bastin for being so great with us and I know other parents thank her, too.

The Parent Reading Coach training sessions were a great experience for myself.I started the program as a volunteer as I have one child out of three that struggles with reading. I needed to learn how to help myself learn before I could help my child. My son has improved about four reading levels this past school year. He no longer gets upset at the thought of reading. In closing, I'm very thankful for the opportunity to have served on this great literacy group.
